Larned State Hospital Exterior

Larned State Hospital (LSH) in Pawnee County is a psychiatric hospital providing psychiatric care on a 78-acre campus. This psychiatric hospital is comprised of three distinct programs that include: Psychiatric Services Program (PSP), State Security Program (SSP), and Sexual Predator Treatment Program (SPTP). LSH is the largest psychiatric facility in the state and between the three programs it provides services to the entire state of Kansas with a large array of professional specialties. LSH is operated for the state by the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services (KDADS). LSH was first established back in 1914 and as of 2023 has had a total of 31 different superintendents.
